Squeeky sneakers on the hardwood, pounding basketballs, the smell of pizza and the vibrant hum of the familiar crowd over the announcer can only be our hometown Dairytown Classic. Its that time again, the time to cram in the gym and cheer on our Sonics!
Nice. DTC was a good experience. Thanks for letting me host! Who's gonna win next year tho?
ReplyDeleteHey Nathan,
ReplyDeleteSUSSEX of course!! I was great having you as a host. You will have lifelong friends and memories.
We can connect the DTC to our Media studies class. At the DTC the equipment storage room just off the gym is converted into a media frenzy with computers, phone lines etc. The DTC websites are updated throughout the games, the Fcaebook site "Dairytown Classc" is updates and the CJCW radio station here is Sussex is kept up to date. This is so great for parents and family of player that are not able to make the tournament but can feel like they are there. Of course, we also have the hundreds of texts being sent from the Sonics Dome...especially when Sussex Lady Sonics went into OT with McNaughton on Friday night and then won the banner in a nail biter on Saturday to become champs!
I sat through most of the event and I was intently watching the game, but trying to get in the gym was horrible, i stood at the back of the line with a few friends and played some hack for a good 45 min before we got to sit down in the chairs of the second row. But the first game was a good one and i don't know why i don't watch school sports more often. Anyway, good job getting some people exited for the games i found your post full of spirit and support.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Jesse, that you eventually got to sit down and watch some of the game. Its a nice change from sitting in class.
